100% Sure!

Any question to whether or not we are having a baby girl was answered today at our 18week appointment where our docor did another sonogram. The Summers Family is having a GIRL! I am still overcome with emotion and cannot wait to hold my little girl in my arms. I can't wait to see what she looks like. I'm sure she will look more like Kenny than me, because all our kids do, but I'm hoping for a dark, curly haired, little petite girl! Here is a picture of our little daughter :) I just started smiling when I said that!!! And here is me...18 weeks and counting. I gained 10 lbs just last month, so I am trying to slow down on the sweets and Wendy's, did you see how I didn't say cut out the sweets! Really we should name her Wendy with how often I want Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers, Fries, & Frosties! Here is to a Happy Day everyone!

Going on a BUG Hunt!

Last year while visiting GE & Grandad in Kansas, I found this lovely treasure while organizing my mother's basement. She sent me home with all kinds of fun things for the boys to play with, but this is definitely their favorite...the bug catcher. The boys have spent hours the last several days catching ladybugs. I am able to send them in the backyard and not hear from them for an hour or two...priceless! Ian asked me what they liked to drink and I told them water, so then he started filling up a glass of water for their treasured pets. Both were sad at the end of the day when we let the ladybugs out. Drew was upset that we would not let the ladybugs sleep with him up in his bunk bed. What fun the bug catcher has been and thank goodness for ladybugs!

Kenny is glad that the boys aren't scared of bugs. He was nervous that my screaming about spiders might instill in them fear.

The Results Are In......

Kenny and I were both in total shock when we cut the cake and saw pink. I balled like a baby and he was giving me high fives! The boys are excited to know that they are getting a little sister.

We are going back for another ultrasound in 2 weeks because our Dr. was only 70% sure it was a girl. I guess if he is wrong we will just have to have another party with a blue cake.

Thank you to all of our wonderful friends who came out to celebrate with us!

BOY or GIRL?

On Wednesday morning we are going to go for our 16 week appointment and hopefully find out the sex of our 4th baby. I was actually wanting to not find out at all and be surprised when the baby arrives, but I can't get Kenny to go for that. So instead we will be having a Finding Out Party that night where we will cut into either a pink or blue cake. The Dr. is going to write the gender of the baby on a card, seal it in an envelope, and I will take it to a local baker to open and make the cake. All are welcome. The party is at 6pm at the park this Wed. What do you think it is?

Family Predictions

Mom - Girl, only because the old wives tale about hairline. Drew and Ian's hair ends in a point, meaning the next child is a boy. Owen's hairline is straight!

Dad - Swears...he made a girl this time!

Drew - Girl and wants her name to be Sarah.

Ian - Thinks its a boy and a girl....that's not good!

Owen - I asked him and all he said was, "Bus!" He would love if a big "lellow" bus came out of my tummy!

Grandad - Boy (Nicknamed the baby Rocky)

Ge - Girl...thinks it should be Rockee

Grandma Summers - Girl, only because she thinks we need a girl.

Grandpa Summers - Girl, only because of odds.

For the record, I will be extremely happy if its another boy. I love having boys and feel like I am a good mom for boys. I'm more nervous than anything to have a girl, but would love to dress a little girl. I feel blessed just to be able to have such great kids!

Happy Easter!

Last night we dyed Easter eggs and it was quite successful. I was anticipating spilled dye all over my tile, staining the grout, but to my surprise we had no accidents. I will have to hard boil more next year because after the boys completed the dozen they wanted to do more. We would have actually had more if I hadn't gone to the bathroom while the eggs were cooling, leaving Owen, who now climbs the bar stools onto the island, and smashing six of the eggs. I love toddlers.....

Owen kept calling the dye, "Jooose." My job was to keep him from drinking the dye and eating the eggs.

Drew liked writing on his eggs with the magic crayon. He wrote his full name on several of the eggs and has informed us Not to eat his eggs. Of course he won't eat them either.

Ian was quick and just kept tossing eggs into the different cups. He did try an egg this morning but said he didn't like the yellow ball in the middle.

We hope you all have a wonderful Easter. The boys woke up to the house filled with candy eggs hidden everywhere. We then went off to church, boys with sugar high, and celebrated the true meaning of this Easter season. I hope we may all reflect on this day the glorious life of our Savior Jesus Christ.

The Living Desert

Drew has been on Spring Break, so we have been having a fun filled week. Yesterday morning the boys and I went out to Palm Desert so we could visit the "Living Desert" zoo. We went with Melina and her children. Of course Carrie came too, she's like every kid's second mother and is always a huge help. We all had a great time and bought year passes. Drew's favorite part of the zoo were the cheetahs and the big model train exhibit. It was hard to tear him away from it and he did leave the zoo in tears because he wasn't done watching the trains. Ian's favorite part was the petting zoo. He loved brushing the goats. I was actually nervous about the petting zoo because I usually have Kenny with me at these kind of things and it was hard to watch the kids as they were running here and there around animals. Owen was the worst. He tried to lead one goat around the coral with his horns, tried to catch another one's poop, and held a huge rock in his hand, arm up, ready to huck it right at a sleeping goat! Oh the stress.... Owen's favorite part, tied with the goats of course, was the play area. There was a great water and sand table that he loved splashing in. I know for next time to change him into swim trunks before he plays there again. My favorite part was the butterfly tent. You walk in and butterflies are flying all around you. One actually landed on Drew's hand. It was lovely! I can't wait to take the boys back. We only made it through half the zoo, so we have a lot more to explore when we go back.
