{Rollin on By}

Ian received a pair of rollerblades from his friend and has been practicing for weeks. He has been polishing his skills by rollerblading throughout our kitchen.  He zooms around holding on to the table, chairs, and countertops for support.  I told him that when he was able to get his balance down, that he and I could go on a rollerblading date!

While I was rubbing his back one night, he asked me if I was ready for our date.  He told me he was ready to go, so we set a time to go on Saturday.  I dusted off my rollerblades and off we went.

He was pretty impressed with his old mom!  I showed him how I could rollerblade backwards and jump off a curb and lets just say that I moved up a couple notches in the "Cool Mom Department" in his eyes!

We rollerbladed all around our neighborhood and I held his hand to offer him some support, but really to just steal the chance of being close with my little boy who is growing up way to fast!

As we rollerbladed we talked.  I told him how his dad bought rollerblades for himself while he was in college because he knew I liked to rollerblade.  And how we spent hours rollerblading all over town and even wore our rollerblades into our favorite Chinese restaurant to eat.  I explained to Ian that it was a fun and creative date and that someday he will plan creative dates for a girl he likes.   I then told him about Kenny and I climbing a water tower after we had spent the day rollerblading and how his dad asked me to marry him on the water tower underneath the stars.   He told me that he was going to take his girlfriend rollerblading someday too.  I hope he does :)

Ian did well rollerblading and only tripped twice.  We had a great time laughing, talking, and skating around!  I Love Ian and love the one-on-one time I am able to spend with him.  He is going to be quite the catch someday to some lucky girl!  He is witty, smart, enthusiastic, cute, is a great cook, & likes to clean toilets....what else could a girl ask for?!!!   I'm training him now.....

{Kindergarten Ready}

Tonight Owen and I went on a date!  We first went and enrolled him for kindergarten!!!  He is so excited to go to school in August with Drew and Ian at Sundance.  I asked him what he is most excited to do at school, and of course he said, "Play on the playground!"  I told him he was going to learn all kinds of new and neat things, to which he quickly asked, "Will they teach me how to whistle?"  I told him we would have to wait and see.   

He was able to meet the teachers and do all kinds of fun craft projects.  I can't believe I will have another child in school.   

Owen got to pick what he wanted to do and I was not surprised when he picked ice cream.  We love Frugo's and since it was a special occasion, I let him scoop out 3 spoonfuls of toppings of his choice.  He was pretty pleased with that and chose: regular gummy worms, sour gummy worms, & sprinkles.  

I can't believe how big this little guy is getting.  He is such a loving and funny kid.  I am going to miss him terribly while he is at school & poor Mya isn't going to know what to do, without her partner in crime!  Our date came to a close with a kiss and a long back rub before he quickly fell asleep. It was the  perfect ending to a great date night!

{Sky Diving}

I am able to check off of my bucket list, skydiving!!!!! My cousin Katie and her new hubby Eric, came out to visit us this last weekend from Ohio. I was thinking of taking them up the tram to eat dinner at a restaurant at the top of the mountain in Palm Springs, so I asked her if either of them were scared of heights. She quickly responded, "No, in fact I've always wanted to go sky diving!" I told her that I did too and that if she wanted to go, I would look into it for us. The next day I reserved a time for her and I to go skydiving in Perris! The hubbies decided not to join in on the fun because one of them really didn't have a desire to go and the other one thought it was not responsible to do it while he had four young kids at home! Neither of their excuses stopped Katie and I from wanting to go!

When we arrived at Skydive Perris, we spent a majority of our time signing our lives away. I can't even remember how many documents we signed stating that they were not responsible for an accidents that might occur or worse our death in any circumstance, such as slipping on a banana peel or getting hit by an airplane! The whole time we were signing papers a video was playing of a lawyer sitting at his desk stating that these were the most important papers we have ever signed in our lives and that we could die from skydiving. It sure calmed our fears & got us excited.....NOT!

We joked about what kind of men we would be strapped to and hoped for the best! Luckily, I got the tall, fun, handsome one named Kenneth! Unfortunately, Katie was not as lucky...she was stuck with the old, short, smokers breathe man, who held onto her hand while they dropped down from the plane! It made for some good laughs!

We thought we would be spending hours in a class preparing us to skydive. That was not the case at all. As we were putting on our cute gear they quickly gave us some instructions and that was it. Our lives were pretty much in their hands.




It took about 15 min to get to the elevation of 12,000 feet, which is where the jumping began!

Ready or not...here we go!

He had me swimming and spinning through the air!

He had me pull the parachute, which jerked us back up!

As we were parachuting, he asked if I liked roller coasters, to which I answered yes, & he then swirled us all around...it was AMAZING!

We then slowly floated down back to the ground.

The landing was soft and I was glad to not be a pancake on the ground!

Skydiving was such an AWESOME experience and I would do it again in a heart beat! As soon as we landed we both wanted to go get back in line like you do on a ride and go again. The best part was doing it with Katie, she is so fun and adventurous...my kind of girl! We are planning our next adventure, but lets be honest, how do you trump skydiving?

****Our videos are quite different, because my instructor told me to laugh and have fun with the camera and Katie's worried her about breathing difficulties and told her to keep her mouth closed. WE COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING AS WE WATCHED THEM TOGETHER!!!!!

{Easter}

Our kids woke up to an empty Easter basket in the middle of their rooms and eggs filled with candy and Lego's hidden everywhere!

We then watched a video on "Finding Faith in Christ" and reminded them about the true meaning of Easter, which is celebrating the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.

We then got ready to go to church. I realized on Sunday morning, that I neglected to buy a new Easter outfit for my boys, but Mya had a new dress to show off!

I went out looking for an Easter dress, but decided on an Easter purse instead! Mya wanted a purse too and this was one of those moments that I just kept thinking....I love having a little girl! This picture was taken by Ian :)

{Dog Days}

Our dogs love to run, fetch, and swim, so when Kenny discovered a big ravine full of water from a recent rain, he decided to take the dogs there to play. As they jumped out of the car the 3 of them took off in a dead sprint for the water and leaped in sending the ducks flying!

Of course Owen was jealous and jumped right in too!

The water was freezing, but it didn't stop him from having fun!

{Las Vegas}

On our way home from Utah, we stayed in Las Vegas at the Stratosphere. The Stratosphere is known for there 1, 149 ft. tower, which is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States. Every time we drive through Vegas to Colorado, the boys beg to go there. They have a ride known as the Big Shot which sits atop the Stratosphere hotel tower and shoots you 160 feet in the air overlooking Las Vegas. My boys are thrill seekers and love a good ride. Let's face it, Kenny and I were just as eager to go.

As we stood in line to get tickets. We were told they were having to shut down the ride due to wind. We were so disappointed that we couldn't ride the ride, but the boys still had fun looking over the edge and spitting! We told them we would do something else fun, so we headed back to the room so they could take a dip in the jacuzzi!



We had a fun night in Las Vegas, but decided it is definitely not a place for children!

{Utah Bound}

We traveled to Utah to attend General Conference for our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We usually just watch general conference from the comfort of our home, but we had the wonderful opportunity to get tickets to attend it live. Kelly, Kenny's dad, had access to tickets, so we jumped at the chance to see family, friends, and conference.

We looked at the Christus in the visitors center right when we got to temple square. The boys were so excited to be out of the car after driving 12 hours, and even though I encouraged reverence, it didn't happen! After I stopped Owen from climbing up the statue of Jesus as he exclaimed, "I want to see the nail prints in his hands," we got a quick photo and left to explore outside!

The kids loved seeing the beautiful Salt Lake Temple.

We went to the church history museum, where the kids were able to do some hands on activities & burn some energy.

Here the kids learned about Nephi following the Lord's commandment to build a ship.

They learned how the early settlers lived and helped with some of the daily tasks....

We walked with our friends the Dunns, Auntie Kim & Cat, & Uncle Gabbi all over the BYU campus. The kids ran wildly and we decided they were good birth control for all the young married couples! Eyring Science building was a favorite stop. Here Drew watched the pendulum with the aunties!

We ate dinner at the Brick Oven....yummy! Aunt Kim and Mya both beaming in yellow!

This was Drew and Curtis's first time to go to the conference center. Drew was amazed that it seats over 21, 000 people and stated, "This is so much cooler than church!"

Kelly's wish came true and he was able to have his son and son-in-laws at the conference with him. It was a very special time and emotions were tender!

While the men went to their session, we women and kids were left to play! We took the kids to a jump place to burn more energy!

We stayed with our good friends Erik and Stephanie and our kids had a blast hanging out together. We wish they lived closer to us! We also were able to visit with Aunt Kay & Uncle Arlin, we love them too! She is Kelly's sister & so much fun!

After our quick weekend away in Utah we were all exhausted! Kenny snapped this photo of us as we traveled back home. Ian was asleep in the front seat. Poor Kenny had to drive through the snow and sleet while the rest of us slept! Las Vegas here we come....
