Happy Birthday Carol!

Carol celebrated her birthday on June 17 & I am just now getting around to blogging about it. We were lucky to have her, Cat, and Grandma at our house on her birthday so we planned a fun day for her.

It started with Cat's yummy breakfast burritos....MMMM....I could eat one of those now!

We spent the day at the beach!
Owen can do without the water, but he loves to build sand castles.

Mya was most happy in grandma's arms.

After the beach we went for a drive:) and then took her to Rubio's for fish taco's. For dessert we had strawberry shortcake. It was a fun day and we love having family around to play with.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July! I love being able to celebrate the country we live in and the freedoms we are so lucky to have. We had a yummy bbq with friends and then watched the city fireworks.

Mya's 1st 4th of July! This has been a big month for her. She is 9 months old and has two new teeth and is crawling/scooting! She crawls like Drew, leaving her right leg bent in front of her dragging it along. We call it the Gollum crawl!

Owen trying the Indo board! Good thing he had a helmet it was difficult.

Ian is now asking for one of these. I'm sure he'd break his arm or legs if he got one. It won't be happening!

Drew spent the whole time on his bike, unfortunately I didn't get a pic. of him , but he did have a great time too.

These were my contribution for the bbq. Lil' Cheesecakes....YUMMY!

Very festive I think

White Water

We purchased a new tent that would fit our family comfortably, so we decided to try it out. We went camping at White Water and had a great time. It was hot there so we cooled off by playing in the river.
We went hiking at night and saw tons of baby frogs.

It was a beautiful campsite!

The boys love their new sleeping bags.

Mya woke up to the birds singing at 5:30 in the morning & would not go back to sleep. She did sleep all night long though so I can't complain.

Our friends Darcy & Shawn surprised us and came up for dinner.
Orin & Owen
Not appropriate, but too cute not to post!

So besides the early morning we all had a wonderful time and can't wait to go again with friends!

Happy Birthday Owen!!!

Today my little Owen turns 3! Its so hard to believe how fast he is growing up. I remember it like yesterday when we brought him home from the hospital....

Little known facts about Owen right now!

~He is obsessed with Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. He refers to himself as Buzz!

~He loves to wrestle with his older brothers & follows them everywhere.

~Our favorite phrase he says, "Muh kneez huut!" (My knees hurt) He says that when he tries to get out of something, like eating his vegetables.

~In order for him to go to bed, he wants to be told the Three Little Pigs story and he is always the wolf!

~I love the sound of his sweet little voice!

To Infinity and Beyond!

Owen has long been anticipating turning 3, or 5 whichever age he decides he wants to be for the day, since Ian's birthday in January. When family called to wish Ian happy birthday they also had to get on the phone with Owen and tell him happy birthday so he wouldn't get upset! He has been requesting a Buzz Lightyear party and has asked, "Ma-Ma it me party today?" for months! He has such great passion for his birthday, I LOVE IT! So the day finally arrived to celebrate his birthday and I thought what better way to celebrate than to go watch Toy Story 3 and to have a party afterwards. It made for a long day and the birthday boy was a little cranky at the beginning of his party, but he sure had a blast! Owen loved the movie and his party. What was even better was that grandma Summers, Auntie Carol & Cat, & Uncle Gabi were there to help Owen celebrate his Buzz Lightyear birthday.
Owen pinning a badge on Woody!

Making a wish for Lots of Buzz Lightyears! :)

Sheep Grandpa

Do you see the family resemblance?

Four Generations
This is my dad, Kendall Elliott, my grandfather Dean Elliott, myself, and Mya

My boys refer to my grandfather as the sheep grandpa. I tell them stories before they go to bed and they always want to hear the ones of me going to my grandpa Elliott's sheep farm where I would help bottle feed lambs. I tell them how I had ten little lambs sucking on each of my fingers at the same time like a pacifier and they crack up. I have wonderful memories of my grandpa and grandma Elliott's farm. I learned to ride a 4 wheeler there, I rode on combines as wheat was being cut, I saw lambs being born, I jumped on hay bales, I watched the sheep being sheared, I played lots of games, and ate frog legs. GOOD MEMORIES!!!! I am thankful for the time I had with my grandparents and the good times I had on their farm. I feel blessed that my boys have a relationship with their Great Grandfathers.

Ty & Tara Elliott

We traveled to Oklahoma to see my baby brother get married. He found a great girl, someone who puts up with his shenanigans and who also likes to hunt! Their wedding was beautiful and we felt honored that they asked Ian to be the ring bearer.
Ian all decked out in his tuxedo with my little niece Jaxyn, who was the flower girl. Don't they look adorable?!!!
I wish I would have videoed Ian fulfilling his duties as the ring bear. He started off doing great! He arrived at 1pm to get dressed in his tuxedo and to take pictures before the ceremony started. He took pictures for hours and did it willingly ( the fact I bribed him with a toy of his choice probably helped). The actual ceremony started at 6pm, so he spent the whole afternoon hanging out at the church in a tuxedo. Before we went to take our seats in the second row, I gave Ian a kiss, told him to smile, and to go when he was told to walk down the aisle, just like he practiced the night before. He said okay and off I went. The music starts, in comes the bridesmaids, and then a prolonged gap. I look back and see Ian standing at the back of the church with his fingers in his mouth, wide-eyed, and not moving! I motion for him to come and he starts walking. The whole time he is rubbing his gum with his finger, because he has a canker sore due to me accidentally poking him with his toothbrush the night before. I keep trying to have him put his hands down and Kenny beside me is saying, "Way to go. His mouth hurts from you brushing his teeth too hard." Of course he didn't say anything about his mouth hurting all day, he saved it for the wedding! So he goes up the steps and stands next to my older brother who is the best man. Ian then proceeds to shake his shoulders and pull up his pant legs. At one point he grabs his crotch, I guess to readjust or something. My sister and brother-in-law at this point are trying not to laugh out loud. He has a scowl on his face and is frowning, obviously bothered. He then starts to pull off his jacket. The whole time I am down in my pew, shaking my head NO, and holding up my fingers 1,2,3! It didn't help. The kid knew I couldn't touch him in front of everybody. My older brother, kept leaning down whispering to Ian, but it did no good. Ian acted like he was dying up there during the whole wedding! I wanted to clobber him! As he started to walk back down the aisle, he got to my pew, looked at me, and said, "I'm so freaking hot!" Luckily my brother Tyler and his wife didn't notice him at all, which was good because everyone else did. I was told that it was terribly hot up there with all the lights, candles, and good old OK humidity. I still think he could have held him self together a little bit. He didn't get a toy. Mya and grandad dancing at the reception. We had a great time and are so happy for Tyler and Tara. Congratulations and Enjoy the Journey!
