Day 1 in KS with Family!

We jumped on an airplane, flew to KS, and are now spending time with my sister and her family. I adore my sisters and love getting to hang out with them any chance I get, unfortunately it doesn't happen enough. My sister is quite the hostess! We have been eating the most amazing food. The boys have a blast playing with their cousins and getting to play with all new toys.

My sister has an amazing backyard that feels like you are in the woods. Looking out her windows you feel like you are in a tree house. I would die for a backyard like this. The boys have spent most of the day outside exploring. I had the luxury of falling asleep to the birds chirping, while reading a book in a hammock, DELIGHTFUL!!!
Reese took just a minute to warm up to Owen, but after she did she imitated his every move. They have quickly become good buddies!
Mya and cousin Brynlee, were born 6 weeks apart and I just know are going to be close friends. Its at times like this that I wish I still lived next door to my sister, like when we were first married, so my kids could grow up with their cousins.
More of our trip to come....

Shrek, The Final Chapter

We had a blast last weekend getting to go with friends to the drive-in to watch Shrek. The drive-in is one of our favorite things to do as a family. The boys were so excited to watch the last Shrek there and to pig out on candy. We got there at 6:30, ate dinner, played with friends, 8:30 started watching "Shrek," 10:30 started watching, "How to Train a Dragon," 12:30am headed for home! Exhausting, but so much fun. We can't wait to go back to watch "Toy Story 3!"

Drew took this picture of Mya and I with Erica's camera. I think he might have a natural talent, or it could be just a great camera and beautiful models!

SOOO Tired!

Owen and Ian have been playing hard lately. They spend a lot of time outside and are pretty much constantly on the go. When they "crash" it can be just about anywhere!

Owen was in the middle of playing Mario Kart, eating a hot dog bun, and tearing down his castle built out of blocks. What a multi-tasker, however he just couldn't keep up! I love that he is actually laying on blocks and that he had a death grip on his precious hot dog bun.

Owen not being able to stay awake to finish his morning snack.
Ian really is asleep on our comfortable stairs in this shot. He was supposed to be up in his bed waiting to come down to have a slumber party with Grandma Summers, while we finished watching our tv show, but snuck downstairs to wait. We didn't know he was even there until we were shutting off the lights to go upstairs for the night.

School Days

Drew was recognized as Student of the Month for his 1st grade class. Kenny and I couldn't be more proud of his many accomplishments. We love this little guy so much and are so thankful that he is ours.

Boys Best Friend

Owen's best friends are our two black labs Shelby and Cassie. He came inside the other day giggling and told me, "I give the dog kisses!" I followed him back outside and sure enough he bent down, pierced his lips together, and laid a big fat kiss right on the dogs mouth, who in return licked his whole face. He thought it was hysterical. I found it disgusting. He also likes to ride them and announced, "I a cowboy, come on horsey!" He is often covered in black hair and slobbery kisses.

Maybe he'll be a Veterinarian like his daddy!

Pig Tails!

My first attempt at pig tails! Mya really didn't enjoy the whole experience of me pulling on her hair, trying to twist those small rubber bands around her baby fine locks, but the end result was fantastic! I had no clue that doing hair was so hard! I think we'll stick to bows.

1st camp out of the year

A couple of weeks ago Drew asked if he could write on the calendar. I asked him what he wanted to write and he said, "Mom its time to go camping." So he got out a pencil and decided that the 9th would be a good night to camp out. He also informed me that it was a camp out only for boys. Since the temp is still very chilly at night I was completely ok with that!

Kenny was excited about it and decided that since it is only April and still chilly at night that the backyard would be where they would set up camp.
The boys could not stop talking about it and requested that they go to bed early, bonus for me!

By 3 am the boys were back inside cozy in their beds due to a leaky air mattress and the fact that it was still pretty chilly for camping. Kenny informed me that it was time for a bigger tent. I guess he doesn't like to sleep at the foot of an air mattress with his feet hanging off. So this week we went to Bass Pro Shop, picked up a 9 person tent with two rooms. One room for the kiddos and one room for Kenny and I, now that makes camping sound a little more fun! Let the camping begin...when it warms up!
