{My Snow Princess turns 5}

My favorite girl in the entire world had an amazing celebration today as she celebrated her 5th birthday!!!

 Mya is such a sweet spirited fun little girl!  She makes me laugh everyday and brings me so much joy!  I wish I could keep her young and innocent forever!

 She was given a birthday outfit from her second mom Gina Cook!!!  She rocked it!
Mya is a strong, independent, adventurous girl with all these brothers to keep up with!

 Her favorite gift was her Elsa dress, hence our Snow Princess!!!

 She is only slightly obsessed with the movie Frozen!

She spun in her dress the whole morning as she sang, "Let it Go, Let it Go!"  It was hard for her to take it off for school.

I love my blue-eyed girl!!!

Mya also had a friends PARTY at Kidz Plex!!

 I am so grateful that Mya has made so many good friends here in Colorado.

It was a fun filled day!  My wish for her is that she always remembers that she is a Daughter of God who is strong, smart, kind, loving, and so important!

Grandma Summers took Mya and I out for lunch to celebrate her birthday.  Mya was so excited that she wanted to dress up for the occasion.  She got to pick the restaurant and at first she wanted McDonald's, but said she wanted something fancy, so I told her about Olive Garden and how the food is served in courses and how they have yummy desserts.  She easily decided that was the place we should go, which I was very grateful for!

 She loved her "fancy" pink birthday drink!

Happy Birthday Cheesecake!

I look forward to what the next year holds for my Sweet Love Mya!!!

{My Birthday Boy}

My oldest, Drew, turned 11 and I swear time is just flying by!  This is his last year of elementary school and then he will be a middle schooler!!!  Can I really be that old?

 This was the first time ever, that he requested clothes and shoes for his birthday!  He was also specific of where they should come from....Under Armor.   I guess it is the popular brand these days!
Never before has he ever cared what he wears or has he worn anything with a lot of color.  That was all about to change!

The colorful socks!!!  Kenny gave me a look of disgust when he saw them!  Granted he is the man who only wears grey and blue!
 The bold bright shoes!!  Drew's response when he saw them, "These are SICK!"
That is a good thing :)
 When he pulled out the neon orange shorts and shirt he yelled, "These are the beast!"  I had to ask again, "That is good right?"  It is if you were wondering!  He quickly changed his attire and his confidence sky rocketed!  He walked with his head raised a little higher and I loved to see it!  He asked me to spike his hair and then the best line he said that morning when he looked in the mirror, "I feel alienish!"  Which means he looks different!
Day 2 of new shoes and socks!

I figured this was my last year of going to the school and eating lunch with Drew.  My veggie lover requested salads from Cafe Rio.  He scarfed down his salad so he could go outside to play football, leaving me with a bunch of boys to eat with!

Drew had a Bonfire/Night Games Party
 (Shelby the dog is liking the cupcakes as he is being sung to...gross...I didn't realize it was happening...they still ate them)

 Brooklyn blew out Drew's candles for him!
 The night consisted mainly of the boys running through the trails of the "forest" for 3 hours.
 They played capture the flag, ghost in the graveyard, sardines, and flashlight tag.

 There was a lot of tackling, laughing, and pulling.
 Drews presents were delivered in toilet paper....

 kleenex boxes...
 and even one in princess wrapping paper!
All the boys had a great time eating s'mores and scaring themselves in the dark!

My wish for Drew is that he will always be confident, fun, and Choose The Right!  He is such a great kid and I am so proud of the man he is becoming.  He never ceases to Amaze me!!!  I am so blessed to have him as my son!  Love you Drewsy!!!

{Hunger Pains}

Poor Clarissa started throwing up blood and went to the emergency room to see what the problem was.  After several tests, they learned that her lap band had slipped and was cutting off all food and liquid to pass through her stomach.  They loosened the band, gave her an IV,  and sent her home.  However, she kept throwing up and she hadn't eaten or drank anything for several days.  She went back to the emergency room and they decided to have surgery to remove the bands.

I was grateful that Kenny and I were here to help her and Kelly through this ordeal.  This is one of the many reasons we decided to move to Grand Junction, was to be close to family.  It was a scary time, but through prayer and Priesthood blessings, she came out just great!

Mya loved visiting grandma up at the hospital!  The nurses were so kind and gave her juice and snacks.  Her favorite part was taking grandma on a walk!

Clarissa is a strong woman, a fighter, and I loved seeing her strength even when she felt so miserable.  She is an inspiration to me.  I am so glad she is feeling better.  I need her help with all the mom responsibilities!

{Friends Get Away}

Kenny and I just had the most fabulous weekend with his high school friends at the Zermot resort in Utah.  Sarah Babbel, Stephanie Dunn, and I surprised our hubbies for their 20th class reunion and met there to spend the weekend together.

These boys have been friends since they were little boys.  They grew up together, went off to college at BYU together, and have remained close throughout the years.  The best part about their friendship is that their wives all get along together great too!
sorry for the blurry pic.
We went swimming in a 100 ft. deep crater

The boys spent an afternoon golfing.

Dan is a serious golfer, Kenny not so much!  When they were in college Kenny's main goal when golfing with Dan was to try and annoy him.  He would make sharp turns as he drove the kart and make Dan's clubs go flying out!  We got to hear all the same old stories and jokes from their younger years throughout the weekend.  They still make us laugh!

The best part were the hours spent talking and laughing together.

 The yummy food was a close second!

While the boys golfed, we spent the day at the Spa!!!  Oh how I love a good Spa.  This one did not disappoint.  I learned more about these women than I ever thought possible.  It was great fun!

Beautiful scenery, beautiful weekend, beautiful friendships!!!

{Labor Day}

We had a relaxing Labor Day with friends up on the Mesa at Island Lake.

Drew, Keedon Jones, and Ian

Dax and Owen getting taken for a ride.

Berklie, Brooklyn, and Mya being paddled around by Jon

Mya and I paddled all around the lake.  It was relaxing and the views were breath taking.

I am adding paddle board to my Christmas wish list!

  I love where we live!!!
