Digging San Diego!

Last weekend grandma and grandpa Summers came out for a visit and we spent a beautiful day in San Diego. They love getting to leave the cold CO winters behind, even if just for a couple of days. We went to the newly renovated Mormon Battalion in Old Town San Diego. We had so much fun learning about the journey and faith of these righteous men who had been asked to sign up to join the United States Army. The kids loved playing in a covered wagon, mining for gold, making bricks, pumping water, and getting water from a well.

Ian, who when asked if he would like to dress up as a soldier, jumped at the chance to hold the big gun!

We also took the boat to Coronado Island where the kids played at the beach and where we enjoyed the Cupcakery and Cold Stone!

Oh How I LOVE the California Winters! Hopefully, grandma and grandpa Summers will do as they talk about and rent a place in CA to escape to during the CO winters. We love spending time with them and would love to have family close.
