Where to go?

The weather was absolutely beautiful yesterday, so as Kenny and I went on a bike ride together with Owen, the older boys were both in school, we contemplated on what to do in the afternoon. I suggested either going hiking in the mountains or going to the beach. We opted for the beach, picked up the boys from school, and headed to Oceanside. We spent 3 1/2 hours soaking up the sun, building sand castles, and playing at a playground. It was a great time, minus the sandy-poop diapers Owen is having today. Have I mentioned how much I love California? Yes, we do have a lot of people who live here, but why wouldn't you want to live here when you have such amazing things to do so close to home.

Drew seeing how far he can throw rocks into the water.
Ian & Owen swinging.
Ian loved to watch the surfers. He tried as hard as he could to swim out to them.
Owen and daddy digging in the sand.

The boys slept all the way home, which gave Kenny and I time discuss plans for this summer. We are wanting to take a boat out to Catalina Island and stay overnight. We heard there is great snorkeling, hiking, and beautiful camp grounds. However, there are hotels too and that might be where I opt to stay since I am with child. If anyone is interested in going with us let me know.

California is fine and dandy now but what happens when that big Tsunami comes your way?

I think you should be more worried about a tornado than a tsunami affecting us. We are far enough inland that we wouldn't have a problem. Now an earthquake...maybe! I've learned you can't live life in fear. Live it one day at a time and enjoy the ride!

I love catalina isaland. The last time I was there was with Bret when we were dating. We're planning on going back in the near future.

p.s. bring on tornado season :) The first year we were here in iowa there were funnel clouds over our townhome...it was hailing and then the sky was green...you know (kansas), anyway it was soooo rad...until I realized that Ella had crawled between my legs as I was taking pictures and was being pelted by the hail on the sidewalk :)
